butter print
full view
This butter print is turned and carved from a single piece of sycamore wood. It is probably Welsh and dates from the 18th century. The geometric designs carved upon it suggest that it was made in either Wales or the west of England. It is slightly concave in shape, to create a rounded pat of butter.
